SAPUI5 combobox or in other words drop-down element is a drop-down control. I have created a project with name zcombo and Namespace Amarmn. Navigate to view folder and open View1. Right-click View1. Under Controls, search for Combo Box. Save your view. Open the xml view in code editor and see the code created by the Layout Editor. Very easily we have created a combo box with 2 items inside it. These items are hard coded as you can in the above code.
So if you want to create a combo-box with static itmes, you know where to change the code. First we create a JSON file with data. For demo purpose, I am passing only three country names. You can have in the list anything that you want. So now we have the data. Open the manifest. Ensure that you are in the Descriptor editor mode. This you can check at the bottom of this page.
Here we will crate a JSON model and initiate its data with the combolist. Fill the New Model window.Play dsf files vlc
Click Ok. Select Preload to true. Save manifest. Change the Combo Box code in view1.Plcsim advanced simulation table download
I am assuming that a destination is configured in your Web IDE. Lets define OData service in the manifest. It will open wizard to configure OData service. Select Service URL. From drop-down select ES5 system. So lets get started. Sample code to set mode while instantiating the table is. In UI5 you can see delete button available to delete the items like below, when you set this mode.
MultiSelect Mode: By setting this mode, a check box is created for each and every row in the table to select the multiple rows in the Table. Output in UI looks like below. Node Mode: This is the default mode. By setting this mode just normal table is displayed with data. SingleSelect Mode: By setting this mode, a radio button will provided at end of each and every row to select only a single row in the table.
SingleSeletLeft Mode: This is similar to SingleSelect mode, the only difference is radio button is provide at the starting of each and every row.
SingleSelectMaster Mode: By setting this mode you can able to select the single row in the table and selected row will be highlighted but no radio button is visible. Output in UI look like below. By now you are familiar with different modes available in Table. Set the mode as per your requirement.
In our next tutorial we will explain you event handling for all these modes.

Do you remember how many times did you fall off your bike bicycle before you learned how to balance and ride it without any help? In the same way learning any new technical area or for that matter any area, there are lots of obstacles. The requirement seemed very straight forward.
The second method is my preferred method, just drag, drop and some clicks. And you get the same result as from the first. I am positive all ABAPers would want to know the second method first.Fiat 500 spare tire location diagram base website tire location
But, I will show you the first method first. Assuming, you have been following our posts diligently, you should be comfortable creating OData services in t-code SEGW and re-defining the methods to select and populate EntitySet. For other projects, you might want to select more fields which would be used in your applications. Assuming our Backend OData is ready. We would log into our WebIDE system and create a new project.
Provide the project name. Since we are fetching data from OData service we should make sure that Application knows the source of data.
Go to manifest. To Bind the data from Controller to View we need to create an OData model for our example it is oModel and bind it to view based on Id. Below is the initial screen which we developed to display all the Purchasing Document Number values as drop down.
When the user clicks on dropdown control it will show all Purchasing Document Numbers. Go the View1 file in Layout Editor Mode. Right click on the View1 file and choose Layout Editor. If you drag too high, it might go to the Page Header. This is a very important step. If you do not Set as Template, the UI elements do not recognize it. Anything within curly braces is dynamic and would be determined at runtime.
Let us check the View1 in Code Editor mode. The following four lines of code are added. What is the difference you see in the above 2 methods? Do you think the Binding part is handled differently? Why was the model not bound to the view element in method 2?
Please leave your thoughts in the comment section. If any experts can guide me better, I would be obliged. In this post we will build an application containing an input field with a Value Help dialog. For that, we will implement a Gateway Query Service that returns the requested list of values.
Then we will implement a dialog window with a table in it. With a line selection, we will implement an event which closes the dialog and transmits the selected value to the original input field.
As of NetWeaver Gateway 2. The SEGW is the transaction for that. We will need one entity MaterialCode for our Value Help Service which contains three properties: material number, material type and description. Next, we select the created entity and define the properties MatnrMattype and Descr :. The model is finished now, and we can generate the runtime objects — use icon in the menu bar.
When double-click on the name we switch to the class builder. Now we can leave the class and the service builder and go to the Gateway hub which is in our case the same system.
On the Gateway hub we publish the service into the service catalog. This is how our project structure looks like:. For that, we need to include them in the so-called bootstrap declaration. We open the index. As the next step we update the main. We will implement the input field with the UI5 control sap.
ValueHelpField and display a field label with another UI5 control sap. We also use some layout controls Panel and LayoutMatrix to make the application appearance nicer.
Note : the control event closed is not yet implemented; we will do it later to extract the selected value from the table which will be placed in the dialog window. This code is placed directly after the declaration of oValueHelpDialog.
As the next step we place the table with two columns Matnr and Descr into the dialog window. We insert this code after the addButton oOKButton. Note : the fields Matnr and Descr must refer to our underlying data model e. In the next step we fetch the data either from a Gateway service or define it locally as a JSON array.
Now we continue with the main. The structure of the local JSON object is aligned with the Odata Entity Model Structure, so that the same data binding can be used here for local and Gateway data binding. For that, we implement the event closed of the ToolPopup control which we already defined but left empty. All code samples can be tested within an Eclipse project. Keep the Jetty window open, and refresh your browser window F5 to re-run the application.
To see the console output, use F12 in the browser to switch to the debugging mode. Email: vladislav. Email: florian.
